Old Man with hippy glasses

A Senior Citizen Nerd

My Superfocus arrived yesterday. Thanks so much for the fast service. As it was a Saturday, I followed the instructions and fitted them myself, with the saddle nosepiece. After 60+ years of wearing glasses, I have a pretty good idea of how they should fit. I checked in a mirror to be sure both eyes were looking through the center of the lenses. I wore them outside (to see if the “Transitions” worked ;-) , reading, computer and watching TV.

1. The adjusting is going to take some getting used to. I find myself moving my head around looking for the “sweet spot” like I did with my Progressives.  Then I remember, and use the adjustment and all is well.

2. They ARE more comfortable than I expected, particularly with the saddle nose piece.

3. I am sorry, but they are pretty ugly. It’s a good thing I’m not some young guy out to pick up chicks, or I would be returning them. At age 68, I can live with ugly.

4. When I remember to use the adjustment, I really can see better, especially for reading or the computer.

July 17 Update: I determined I really should have ordered the longer temples, as the regular men’s temples are too short. The end of the temple rests on the top of my ear. So I called, planning to pay extra  for them. Customer service promised to get a set of the 155mm temples out to me ASAP, no extra charge. Now THAT is Customer service. Thank you again.

I received the new longer temples a couple days ago. Much better fit now. I don’t feel as if they are going to fall off.

Still getting used to focusing the lenses, but it is becoming more second nature now. Will definitely be keeping them after the 30 days ;-)

One thing I must mention. Besides the great improvement in vision, is the OUTSTANDING customer service. While the Superfocus ARE very expensive, the support from the company makes up for it. Thank you very much.

I have a pair of Bauhaus too, and I have gotten more compliments from women than men regarding the look of these retro-frames.
Mine are in for repair, and I find while I wear my old glasses in the meantime that I unconsciously reach for the slider, oops not there. Oh I want my SuperFocus back!

The Superfocus glasses replaced 4 pairs of fixed focus glasses in 3 magnifications plus sunglasses; a pair for walking, and a pair for driving…This needless to say has simplified life tremendously.

That said, I had problems with the lenses staying in synchronized focus, that is; the left lense and right lense not staying focused at the same distance..

Since I couldn’t bear being without a pair of Superfocus glasses I ordered a second pair to hold me during the first’s trip to Superfocus repair. Well, Superfocus very kindly replaced the glasses..and replaced the second pair too when they had a similar problem..

I am hoping the new Leonardo design will be more immune to the focus synch problem…the reports from users soumd like they are a great improvement in use and construction…time will tell.
