My Superfocus arrived yesterday. Thanks so much for the fast service. As it was a Saturday, I followed the instructions and fitted them myself, with the saddle nosepiece. After 60+ years of wearing glasses, I have a pretty good idea of how they should fit. I checked in a mirror to be sure both eyes were looking through the center of the lenses. I wore them outside (to see if the “Transitions” worked , reading, computer and watching TV.
1. The adjusting is going to take some getting used to. I find myself moving my head around looking for the “sweet spot” like I did with my Progressives. Then I remember, and use the adjustment and all is well.
2. They ARE more comfortable than I expected, particularly with the saddle nose piece.
3. I am sorry, but they are pretty ugly. It’s a good thing I’m not some young guy out to pick up chicks, or I would be returning them. At age 68, I can live with ugly.
4. When I remember to use the adjustment, I really can see better, especially for reading or the computer.
July 17 Update: I determined I really should have ordered the longer temples, as the regular men’s temples are too short. The end of the temple rests on the top of my ear. So I called, planning to pay extra for them. Customer service promised to get a set of the 155mm temples out to me ASAP, no extra charge. Now THAT is Customer service. Thank you again.
