I had read about Trufocals when they first came out and was dubious. It wasn’t until about a year later when a local optometrist had a test pair that I knew they were for me. I must mention that I am extremely picky about glasses and I hadn’t been happy for years. All of the problems Trufocals had shown on their website were my problems. Also, I am an avid museum visitor and could never focus accurately with my progressive lens.
With Trufocals all of my vision problems ended. At first, I though I would use them as an adjunct to my regular progressives, but when I wear the progressives I’m always looking for the slider to focus more accurately so that I now wear my Trufocals almost all the time.
A quick anecdote: On a recent museum visit, I saw a well dressed man fiddling with his progressives to find his sweet spot. Interrupting his privacy, I started to tell him about this wonderful new invention. At first, he was a little put off by my aggressiveness, but when he heard what I had to say, he lit up. In a flash, I had a crowd of a half dozen. The museum issue is obviously a big one.
Finally, I must say that the famous Vicky that the other bloggers refer to, held my hand through the very strange experience of buying glasses on line.
